Etcetera Edutainment was founded in 2005 by graduates and faculty of Carnegie Mellon University's
Entertainment Technology Center, an internationally renowned degree program for the design and development of interactive entertainment and educational technologies.
Etcetera Edutainment specializes in adapting the techniques and technologies of the videogame industry to simulations for training and educational purposes. Our mission is to be a leader in virtual training software for industry safety and education.
We believe in more
effective education, not
more education.
Our products are for the new generation of workforce. Current training methods, including lectures, product manuals and videos, are not effective enough for learners to feel confident about mastering the skills or understanding hard to learn concepts. Even educational content currently delivered online is not designed in a way that helps people remember the relevance of information.
The basic nature of true interactivity – forced reaction, decision making, ongoing real-time feedback for learners – makes virtual simulation tools more effective (and fun) than traditional training methods. Learning through simulation is relevant and the next best thing to actual hands-on experience.
Our website is divided into three areas:
Industrial Training - focusing on safety training for manufacturing and industrial sectors;
Healthcare Solutions – developing interactive medical device training and tools for patient education; and
Creative / R&D – designing innovative solutions for a variety of markets.
