Virtual Training
Virtual Training is the science of marrying realistic computer simulations with engaging videogaming technologies and methodologies to produce effective and compelling training.

Etcetera's simulations allow trainees to engage in training that is different every time. Trainees apply their knowledge to new scenarios, rather than relying on simply repetition or routine.

Studies show that virtual training engages more of the senses and generates greater comprehension than traditional passive solutions. Trainees navigate a virtual environment, which looks just like their work environment, and have to react in real-time to the people, tools, and events around them. They can work in teams with actual or virtual co-workers, providing an enhanced sense of both realism and responsibility.

Additionally, the ability to track and record individual progress allows companies to determine what participants are learning and where they may be struggling, as well as to maintain records on proficiency and compliance.

Virtual training is designed for today's videogaming generation - adults 35 years and younger who have attention spans too short for lectures or PowerPoint presentations. These adults prefer to learn by doing, and they retain more knowledge when they are actively engaged. When such interactivity is applied to safety training, the result is fewer mishaps, less litigation, and healthier employees.

Virtual training obviates the need to fly trainers and/or trainees to training session locations. While internet-based training trainings (e.g., via WebEx) ostensibly do so as well, trainees have difficulty maintaining interest for more than 30-60 minutes.

Until now, virtual training solutions were only available to the military and a few large companies with big budgets and the ability to wait years for solutions. Etcetera's proprietary technology allows the development of customized virtual training solutions with realistic budgets and timeframes. Additionally, our technology and experience mean that you could be looking at a prototype of a safety training solution modeling your environment before the next quarter is out.
